Sin City: Skid Row

“I find it comforting — a place of belonging.”

“Forgotten Grandma” - Skid Row 2024

There’s something about it — a strange comfort I can’t explain. A place where I feel like I belong, even though I don’t know why I want to go so much. The noise, the chaos, the faces, the stories — it all feels familiar in a way that’s hard to admit. Maybe it’s not about the place itself, but the truth it holds. The kind of truth that’s raw, unfiltered, and real.

“Cold December” - Skid Row 2024

When I walk through Skid Row, I don’t just see struggle — I see survival. People carrying stories deeper than the streets they sleep on. There’s honesty here, in the eyes of strangers who have nothing to hide. No filters, no illusions — just people being people, trying to make it through another day.

“Mr. Vic” - Skid Row 2025

Sometimes I wonder if part of me feels drawn here because of my own battles — the quiet ones that most people don’t see. Maybe it’s my way of finding understanding, or maybe it’s my way of healing. Talking to the community, listening to them, capturing their stories through my lens — it gives me a sense of connection that’s hard to find anywhere else.

“Two Souls, One Fire” Skid Row 2025

It’s not about pity or charity. It’s about presence. About showing up where others turn away. About seeing humanity in its rawest form and realizing — we’re not that different after all.

Skid Row isn’t just a place. It’s a mirror. And sometimes, what it reflects back at me feels like home.

There’s more to tell about Skid Row. This is just the beginning…
